Race, Media, and Illustration

On Monday, we coordinated a small exhibit entitled "Race, Media, and Illustration." The exhibit featured excerpts from our "Interactive Reading Group," a program where a group primarily consisting of African American men contribute to a series of reading and discussion activities related to illustrated narratives (comic strips).

Our "Race Media, and Illustration" exhibit also contained excerpts from our "race and illustration" series produced this semester by our contributors Kirk, Chris, and Jeremiah.

In the lead-up to the exhibit, I re-read many of the writings that both groups had produced over the last several months. I was really pleased with the vibrant knowledge building taking place among the participants. For the next couple of posts, I'll provide some samples of their work.
