Considering a Triple Front

Here's literary scholar Mike Sell in his recent article "Don't Forget the Triple Front!" raising a point that we Black Studies folks would do well to consider:
As I've argued elsewhere, it is both inaccurate and irresponsible for those working within Black Studies, particularly the tendency developing out of the specific revisions of the Black Aesthetic introduced during the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and '70s, to forget Harold Cruse's assertion, described in The Crisis of the Negro Intellectual (1967), that Black Studies must struggle on a "triple front" (my phrase) that interrelates in mutually critical fashion culture, economics, and politics.
