Wealth Inequality

The lack of wealth accumulation among African Americans hinders their abilities to gain economic stability. Wealth is much more stable across generations than income, and because of past policies and historical disadvantage, black families are likely to have insufficient assets (Conley; Oliver & Shapiro). Disparities in wealth are, therefore, at the root of perpetual racial inequalities. --Psyche Southwell
